After you received your new bike, there are a few steps get it ready to ride. Your bike arrives with detailed assembly instructions and we at West Los Angeles Bicycle Assembling Shop is here to guide you with these directions in order for you to ride your bike perfectly! To know more, read the following step-by-step below:
1. PREPARE FOR BIKE ASSEMBLY
After you received your bike with West Los Angeles Bicycle Assembling Shop or from any local bike shop near you, you will need to reassemble and gather the following tools needed to build your bike such as:
Knife or Sharp Edge
Allen Wrenches
Torque Wrenches
Scissors or Clippers
Center Lock Tool
After preparing all the necessary tools needed for your bicycle assembly, open the seal on your bike box using your knife or any sharp edges to cut the packaging tape. Once the lid is removed, lay your bike box flat on the floor, remove the top, and set aside.
2. DETACH YOUR BICYCLE
Remove your wheel bags and remove the frame from the straps or bungees securing inside the bike box. Leave your bike to begin assembly.
After, clip all zip ties and disconnect your secured accessory bag, your seat post, and your handlebars from your bike and remove all padding as well.
3. SECURE YOUR BIKE IN A BICYCLE STAND AND INSTALL YOUR SEATPOST
While using a bike stand, insert your seat post into your seat tube. Align and adjust to your previously marked saddle height. Tighten your seat clamp to your frame’s torque spec. With the help of the bike stand, it will make a quicker and easier assemble. If you don't have one, you may continue using your bike box as a barrier between the floor and your bike.

Bring your bike to us in a box or have the bicycle you purchased elsewhere shipped directly to our store location for assembly. Contact us immediately if your bike is headed our way for assembly.
If you're dropping off a boxed bicycle, you don’t need an appointment, just bring it in-person whenever it’s convenient and we’ll get you all set. One quick note: You'll probably need to leave it with us for a few days.
